The Complexity of Better: A Human Thing

I think the main reason we invest in things (especially intangible things), even if we're not consciously admitting it to ourselves, is because we believe it can be better.

We believe in better. We believe in improving.

We are hard-wired for evolution. Just look to Nature.

But, we tend to miss how the creation of “better”, or improvement, truly works. Real understanding slips between our fingers and, with it, understanding the interplay between belief and movement.

The unconscious belief in better is not enough for better to reveal itself; one must pay attention.

I have observed and contemplated investments from a variety of perspectives, considering numerous energies and the traps lurking within.

For example…

We can invest in something and want something to be different, or better, from a “scarcity of trust but an abundance of momentum” kind of place.

This will result in someone forcibly doing everything they think they should be doing only to have it not work, proving to them that their belief doesn't work.

“See, I knew this would happen. I made this investment and "did" everything, and nothing has changed. This wasn't worth it.”

Unless interrupted, this faux-reality feedback loop will continue on and on, further separating you from understanding.

Or…

We can invest in something with a small amount of trust and an abundance of action. This will result in perhaps acting with the belief that it will work — only to oscillate between not believing that was enough and going back and checking to ‘see if it worked.’

This is planting a seed, then 2 days later, going back out and digging it up to see if it grew. Think about what you do this with.

Or…

We can invest in something with a tremendous amount of trust and a scarcity of action. This will result in total belief that something is working but also a missing the aligned action that, by law, will arise needing to be done along the way.

For this person, some things may actually happen. But never the entirety of what was possible. This person may also find themselves stuck in a reality where random miracles happen, but because there is a lack of action, they're left believing that life is a random string of chance. That they have no collaborative role to play.

But what if…

We invest in something with an abundance of trust and an abundance of attunement to action.

Meaning that you will go into something, holding the paradox of where you are and who you are, being enough with an immense faith that what's possible - be it improvement, growth, joy, love, intuition, money, success, you name it - is deserved.

It is tuning into what is without losing sight of what could be.

It is walking the line between Having and Wanting while still operating from integrity.

That is the sweet spot.

You can apply this framework to anything, be it something you desire, a business launch, a relationship, etc.

Divine Timing is not passive, nor is it forced. It is surrendering to the larger and wiser unfolding of Life as it unfolds through you. Doing so with immense faith in what's possible while having the courage to take the right actions along the way.

When you refuse to meet God halfway––you have lost connection to your co-creator-ship.

When you need it to happen yesterday––you have lost connection to Divine Timing.

When you make desire a god or a demon––you have lost connection to the Dance of Life.

When you know where you fall on this scale, you have the tools to unwind and transform whatever is keeping you there, and, in perfect Timing, have taught yourself to trust that Life will support you when you trust in yourself.

What then becomes possible?

The code Nature has cracked that is much harder for us self-reflective beings is that “better” comes from being enough. And without being enough, things will never feel better.
