Initiates Eat Scarcity for Breakfast
The problem with most new-age money work is well—everything.
And, while I could go in-depth into what feels like an endless vortex of half-truths, empty promises, and cotton candy fluff – today, let's stick to one.
Most new-age or spiritual money work encourages transcendence.
It does this through promising riches by getting on board with axioms like –
Money is just a neutral, loving energy!
The Universe is abundant and, thus, wants you to be abundant!
Scarcity is something to eradicate from your system entirely! Then you will be rich! Rich, I tell you!
Here's why this probably doesn't work for you and/or, if it does, why it leaves you feeling ~ strange ~
Many spiritual traditions encourage transcendence or unity as the goal. This has dripped its way down into much of the current buffet of spiritual money work.
Energetically, this looks like overriding the personal ranges of the aura (personality, ego, self-concept, etc.) and losing total identification with the self.
This was the big exploration for a long time around these here spiritual parts. Flooding the aura with transcendent energies, total disidentification with the personality, and of course, donning a loin cloth as your only item of clothing. All I Am, all the time, if you will.
However — many who have passed on, many of us who are here, and many more who are on the way — recognize the (evolved!) purpose of humans as embracing full-spectrum humanity through engaging the personal aura and everything that comes with it. Emotions, duality, ego, tension, contrast, contradictions, oh my!
Now, before you get worried that transcendent energies are totally off the sur la tablé, here's the juice: the exploration of full-spectrum humanity creates access to these planes in a way that doesn't bypass the self but rather — enriches and generates more of it. Which ultimately, generates more of Life.
Accessing interdependence through sincere engagement with all the ranges of the self, not just the ones where we're all one amorphous blob.
Now that CTA would certainly get me on board with another round at yee old incarnation wheel. (Wait… is that what happened??)
Here's why applying this to money is hilarious and has probably not worked for you (all of you) to varying degrees:
Item One: money is just a neutral loving energy
Money, just like you, is energy. And, sure, within certain planes of reality, money is just another ~ neutral energy ~
But, again (just like you), money is here, in the physical, willingly getting its grubby little hands dirty AF.
Let me remind you that money has no barriers to what it's willing to explore.
Pain, torment, sacrifice, exploitation? There's money waving at you 👋
Illegal streams of commerce, systems destroying the planet, well-planned nationwide schemes that keep the rich, rich, and the poor, poor? Oh, look, there's money again! 👋
That coach on lé internet who teaches about money in a way that you do not resonate with and secretly think should not have as much money as they do? Money! All over! Everywhere! 👋
Money is like Jesus. It gives no f*cks about the company it keeps. And it certainly gives no f*cks about your judgment about where it should or shouldn't be hanging out.
So, money is just neutral energy, the way everything — within certain planes of reality — is just neutral energy.
And, giving a whole-hearted YES to the exploration of meaning through full-spectrum humanity simultaneously means giving a whole-hearted NO to total neutrality all the time.
Item Two: the Universe is abundant and wants you to be abundant!
The Universe wants you to be wealthy and abundant and in total ease as much as the Universe wants you to suffer, experience pain, and feel lack and limitation.
The Universe is certainly on board with our personalized explorations. Because the Universe (Ph.D.) knows what we gain through said explorations means far more to us than bypassing those to reach – "we are all one, suffering is an illusion, everything is love, goodbye."
Also, I think the Universe is busy doing things like this ⬇️ and is pretty okay with us getting on with the grand exploration of duality. Which includes abundance–scarcity, and everything in between.

Aaaaaaaaaand, that takes us to item three – scarcity. Something to eradicate from our system completely?
Well, by now, you're probably getting it. #Boring.
Scarcity is here, like joy is here, like anger is here, like poop is here. It's here because we're all co-creating it together because… wait for it – we, you, I, are to varying degrees — authentically interested in exploring it. In becoming wiser, more sincere, more kind, and more generous through the supremely intelligent, tension-ridden vehicle that is scarcity.
