“The elders have asked that every morning after every full moon at 10:00AM that we gather, go outside, and
LOOK TO THE Sun, TO THE Flowers, AND TO THE Heart OF THE Earth
In doing so we bring more solar energy and flower wisdom to the Earth, because the next age is the Age of Flowers. Flowers are our medicine for the next age. ”

THE STORY BEHIND
Sunia Apothecary
SUNIA is a word that comes from many places
(Sanskrit, Buddhism, Hinduism, and more)
and has many meanings.
There is no exact definition but rather an essence that can be described in many ways.
Sunia is deep listening, stillness, zero-point, peace, empty, nothingness, a vessel for the infinite.
It is a state of awareness in which the mind is brought to complete stillness, perfect harmony, neutrality, and a peaceful calm. It is a state of emptiness, where no positive or negative is assigned to things: there is no good or bad, there is no trying, no searching, no desire, no wanting. There is nothing. From the state of ‘sunia’ things can simply unfold, without you having to 'try' or 'do' anything.
In Pilar’s world, Sunia is the place that the wild, gardening, herbal medicine, and vibrational plant medicine have always brought her to. A place of deep listening, a place of emptiness, a place in which you become nothing - so that you many become everything. It is her intention that no matter the medicine you are working with, you are opened to the state of Sunia in some way, big or small.
“We do not force, push, or try to act.
With folded hands of devotion, Infinity acts for us.”

WORKING WITH
Vibrational Plant Medicine
Working with vibrational plant medicine is a sacred, intimate, and intuitive journey.
There is no ‘right’ or ‘wrong’ way to relate to medicine.
Flower Essences and other forms of vibrational plant medicine work on and interact with the subtle body. You can think of them like a bridge between the Soul and the physical body.
Everyone has varied and colorful experiences working with them. As you work with the flower simply yet deeply – pay attention. This is how you will begin to open to the medicine working with and through you. Notice anything from subtle differences in your bodies (physical, energetic, mental, emotional, astral, etheric, etc.), your reality, the way you feel, how Creation is speaking to and working through you, etc. Each flower has a different song, spirit, and area of speciality. Rather than focusing on a potential or perceived problem being fixed,
focus on the mythical nature of yourself and reality and the subtle shifts taking place in service to the area you are focusing on.
Highly sensitive and attuned people usually notice them right away and oftentimes have (manageable and embodied) experiences not dissimilar to working with a stronger more intense medicine.
The beauty of flower essences is that even if you are not noticing or feeling anything, they are still working with and on you. It’s okay to not notice anything. My advice here is to continue working with the medicine and set the intention to begin attuning your awareness to the subtle nature of yourself and reality.

Basic Recommendations for
JOURNEYS
If you are new to flower essences, I always recommend working with at least 1 single essence before working with blends. All of my herbalism and flower teachers, from around the world, agree on this. Take the time to get to know a single flower or plant before mixing. This is also a beautiful way to open up your subtle body as you are attuning to the energy of 1 plant spirit.
Basic Recommendations for
DOSAGE
If you are new to flower essences, I recommend taking a journey with 1 essence first. This would look like taking 3-4 drops under the tongue 3-4 times a day for a full Moon cycle. None of this is mandatory, this is simply what I’ve found to be most effective. As you attune to the medicine and begin to develop a relationship with it, you will be able to feel if you want a higher or lower dosage or a shorter or longer cycle with the essence.
After you have completed a journey with a flower essence you will have cultivated a relationship with that flower in which you can intuitively take a few drops of it before something you know it’s an ally for.
Basic Recommendations for
DOSING x ENJOYING
Shelf Life: 3 months
For Journies: 3-4 drops under the tongue 3-4 times a day for a full Moon cycle.
Other Ways to Enjoy:
— in drinks
— in a bath
— in tea ceremony
— in cacao ceremony
— anointing yourself
— dropping onto your skin
— dropping into a bowl of water on your altar
— as a spray in a mister bottle with water and perhaps essential oils
— with your pets (with their permission of course; I put drops in my cats water bowls or on their fur versus dropping it directly into their mouth

CULTIVATING
Reciprocal Relationships
It’s important and humbling to remember that The Earth and her many gifts do not exist solely to serve us and be taken from
but rather they are allies, friends, and teachers who desire to be in communication, communion, and relationship to us.
Many are awakening too and remembering the vast importance in cultivating curious, humble, reverent, and reciprocal relationships with plant allies.
A simple and profound way you can cultivate relationship to your flower medicine is to approach it as something you desire to be in relationship to. Imagine starting a new relationship with a human; you are curious about who they are and not expecting them to immediately ‘do’ things for you. It’s the same thing with plants. Say hello, introduce yourself, set some intentions, tell it about why you desire to get to know it and work with it.
Some other simple ways to cultivate relationship is to offer some drops of your medicine to the Earth or in a bowl of water on your altar, thank it after dosing, and spend some time getting to know the physical flower itself. If the flower you are working with is not local to you, you can look at pictures of it online or in flora and fauna books. If you are working with a flower local to the landscape you call home, I highly recommend going and sitting with it and getting to know it. Sitting with the flower is a direct and heartfelt way to get to know and attune to the plant spirit.
I have found that the more pure-hearted, pure-intentioned, and playfully we approach flowers, the more they open to us.
